Where can Girl Scout Cookie activities take you? A lot farther than you may realize. After all, in addition to being a fun opportunity to earn money for your council and troop, being successful in the cookie sale requires many of the same skills you'll draw upon in your professional and personal life. So as you embark on this year's cookie activities, be sure to keep these things in mind:

2. Be aware of the new skills you're developing
3. Have fun!

What skill has the cookie activity helped you master? Start with the ones we've listed above, and write your own. Then be sure to include them on your resumes and job and college applications.
When writing a resume or filling out an application, be sure to include any experience and special skills that speak to the needs or interest of the person reviewing it. Ask yourself "Why would I want to hire or interview this person?" and go from there.
  • Be honest.
  • Use action words to describe your skills. (Sold, Created, Developed, Managed, Achieved, etc.)
  • Stress skills, knowledge, and abilities that fulfill the job or admission requirements.
  • Provide information about career or educational goals.
  • Proofread carefully for grammar, punctuation and spelling errors.
