Managing Money: Troop Budget

Junior Girl Scouts can understand budgeting and group finances. They are capable of deciding whether to spend all their money on a party, to use it toward a service project, or to save it for future plans. Experiences in Girl Scouting can help girls learn to manage money wisely.

Try to ensure that decisions about raising and spending money reflect the needs and interests of all the girls in your troop/group. When planning trips and activities with girls, remind them to consider everyone's opinion and develop a plan agreeable to everyone. Use the troop budget sample from page 27 to create your proposed troop budget or download the ABC Excel troop budget worksheet.
