ABC Bakers, a division of Interbake Foods, manufactures about half the Girl Scout Cookies sold in the U.S. Annual proceeds from the cookie sale stay in the local Girl Scout councils to support Girl Scouts in their communities. "We're thrilled to be a part of such a great opportunity for the girls to learn self-confidence, develop their leadership skills, improve their ability to address the public and reach their own goals," adds Baxter.
Baxter is pleased with ABC's ability to balance high technology with down-home care when baking Girl Scout Cookies. Interbake is able to adjust quickly to changing consumer tastes -- as it did to offer ABC partner councils the first individual portion packs in 2007.
In addition to helping Girl Scouts achieve success, Baxter is happy about what cookies mean to the rest of the world. "When people want to treat themselves, it's the little pleasures that come first. Cookies will be around forever."
